. VESA (stands for Video Electronics Standards
Association) developed a set of standards so that most mounts and TV
screens/monitors will be compatible. A VESA Pattern is the size of the pattern on the back of a TV or on the face of the TV Mount. Manufacturers of monitors have agreed on
these standard hole patterns so that their monitors can be matched to mounts
that will fit. Some brief information and a tape measure can
help. There are mounting holes on the back panel of almost every TV. The wall mount will
connect to these holes. Your goal is to help your customer get a mount that has the same
hole pattern as their TV. So here is a checklist to go over with your customers to make you look like a star and offer great customer service:
WHAT IS THE VESA PATTERN SIZE ON MY TV?
First of all, check the packaging and instructions to see if tells you the
size up front. If not, get out the tape measure. In general, the hole
patterns are measured in millimeters. The "Standard" is the
measurement (in millimeters) of the distance between the horizontal mounting
holes and the vertical mounting holes (for example: 100mm x 200mm or 50mmx
50mm). Some TVs and Mounts have more than one hole pattern to be flexible and
compatible to several standards so measure carefully. Once you know the
vertical and horizontal measurement and be sure the mount you choose includes
that VESA standard hole pattern. If the mount you want does not have the VESA
standard you need, contact us - there are adapter plates that can adapt most
mounts to the each VESA pattern.
