TV Mount Compatibility

BE SURE THE MOUNT YOU SELL THEM WILL FIT THEIR TV

. VESA (stands for Video Electronics Standards Association) developed a set of standards so that most mounts and TV screens/monitors will be compatible. A VESA Pattern is the size of the pattern on the back of a TV or on the face of the TV Mount.  Manufacturers of monitors have agreed on these standard hole patterns so that their monitors can be matched to mounts that will fit.  Some brief information and a tape measure can help. There are mounting holes on the back panel of almost every TV. The wall mount will connect to these holes. Your goal is to help your customer get a mount that has the same hole pattern as their TV.  So here is a checklist to go over with your customers to make you look like a star and offer great customer service:

WHAT IS THE VESA PATTERN SIZE ON MY TV?

First of all, check the packaging and instructions to see if tells you the size up front. If not, get out the tape measure. In general, the hole patterns are measured in millimeters. The "Standard" is the measurement (in millimeters) of the distance between the horizontal mounting holes and the vertical mounting holes (for example: 100mm x 200mm or 50mmx 50mm). Some TVs and Mounts have more than one hole pattern to be flexible and compatible to several standards so measure carefully. Once you know the vertical and horizontal measurement and be sure the mount you choose includes that VESA standard hole pattern. If the mount you want does not have the VESA standard you need, contact us - there are adapter plates that can adapt most mounts to the each VESA pattern.

HOW DO I FIND THE VESA SIZE PATTERN ON THE MOUNT I BUY?

Here are some General Guidelines. For the specific Standards, visit www.VESA.org

Small and Medium Flat Panel TVs, LCD and LED Monitors and Screens
Size range from 12" to 23" diagonally
Weight up to 30 lbs
Most likely to use the 75x75mm or 100m x 100m VESA standard

Large Monitors and Screens
Size range from 23" to 30" diagonally
Weight up to 50 lbs
Most likely to use the VESA 200mmx 100mm or 200mmx200mm standard

Extra Large Screens (usually Plasma)
Size ranging from 31" to 90" diagonally
Weight up to 250 lbs
Most likely to use VESA Standards 400mmx200mm, 600mm,400mm, or 800mmx400m.

Check with the manufacturer's information for measurements on your TV and your mount to confirm a compatible fit. Complete details on the VESA Standards can be found at the VESA Organization at www.VESA.org.
